This chocolate poke cake filled with caramel may just be better than anything!
This poke cake is rich and delicious. Perfect for parties, holidays or just because chocolate cake sounds good! I got this recipe from friend. When she learned I had just started this blog, she was kind enough to share recipes that her grandmother had given her for a shower gift - a notebook full of handwritten recipes along with stories about how she got the recipes, etc. I hope many of you will try my sweet friend's grandma's recipes, starting with this one! I know she would love it! There's more to come from grandma!
How to Make Better Than Anything Else Cake
Doing a little research on this cake, I see similar recipes calling it "Better Than Sex Cake!" Obviously grandma knew she was writing recipes for a granddaughter so perhaps she changed the name! Regardless, it is an easy to follow recipe that yields great results and oh so delicious!
Start by baking a German Chocolate cake mix as directed on the box. Let the cake cool about 10 minutes and using the handle end of a wooden spoon, poke holes about 1/4 inch apart. Next, mix one can of sweetened condensed milk with equal part caramel syrup (you will find this with the ice cream toppings).
Pour the mixture over the top of the cake until gone.
Refrigerate the cake for 1 hour, then top with Cool Whip. Crush the Heath candy bars for topping.
If there are any leftovers, cover the cake with tin foil or plastic wrap and keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.
I hope you will give Corey's grandma's Forkin' Good cake recipe a try! Thanks for sharing your recipes, Corey!
