Blondies are soft, chewy, and can be prepared quickly using just one bowl with simple ingredients you likely have on hand! Packed with buttery goodness, you can enhance them with chocolate chips, M&M's, nuts, or your favorite mix-ins!

Blondies are essentially Brownies that don't contain cocoa or melted chocolate in the batter. Instead, brown sugar is used to give it the wonderful flavor! Blondies are soft and chewy.
Growing up, this is the "Brownie" we enjoyed! We all called it a Brownie because that's what my mom called it! Of course, we now know it is a the best Blondie recipe, but either way, it is delicious! As kids, it was the go to dessert and was made by just about all of my siblings. This might not be a classic Blondie recipe, but we love it. My mom still had the very stained recipe card in her collection and several family members made their mark on the card with their handwriting! One recipe I will treasure!
What You Need
Butter
Sugar
Dark Brown Sugar (Light Brown Sugar will work as well)
Eggs
Vanilla Extract
All Purpose Flour
Baking Powder
Salt
Chocolate Chips, M&M's or Nuts (all optional)
Tips for Making Blondies
These Blondies will be a little gooey and soft. I use the toothpick test, but it will not come out completely clean because they center will be a bit gooey while they are warm.
Don't over bake your Blondies. They will be dry and hard.
I recommend using a metal pan when baking this Blondie recipe.
Use your imagination when it comes to mix-ins! I normally add chocolate chips, but if you're making them for a special occasion, add holiday M&M's, Reece's Pieces, your favorite nut, etc. The list is endless!

How To Make Blondies
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray or parchment paper and set aside. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter at 30 second intervals until butter is melted. Add the sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla to the melted butter and stir until fully combined.

Step 2: Add in the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt) to the wet mixture and stir well. The batter will be thick. If desired, add chocolate chips, M&M's or nuts at this time and mix well.

Step 3: Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes. Once cool, cut and serve the bars!

How to Store Blondies
Storing: The Blondies will stay fresh for 2-3 days when stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Freezing: To freeze the Blondies, wrap in plastic wrap and place in a freezer bag or airtight container for up to 2 months (don't forget to date your bag).

This is a quick and easy recipe that is big on flavor! It also makes for a great addition to your holiday cookies platter by simply adding a few holiday M&M's! They are Forkin' Good!
