A rich bar filled with chocolate and caramel that is hard to resist!
This recipe is another great find in my mom's collection. Her days working at a local elementary school brought a lot of wonderful recipes home. The teachers shared recipes not only with each other, but also with the students. The paper recipe has the outline of a turkey around the recipe to be shared with students at the holidays! Yep, those are the good ole days.
If you are a lover of chocolate and caramel, you will love these bars! I've taken these to potlucks at work and they are a hit. The base of the recipe is a box cake mix which puts it in the "easy" category. The most difficult part of the recipe is unwrapping the caramels (I enlist the help of my husband!). I have also used the unwrapped caramel bits, which puts the recipe back in the "easy" category!

Step 3: In a medium bowl, mix together cake mix, evaporated milk, and butter until thoroughly combined. Put half of the cake mixture into prepared pan and bake for 6 minutes.

This recipe has been with my mom a long time (40+ years) and definitely worthy of a try! You definitely need to add this one to your recipe collection!
