This brownie recipe from my grandmother is a fudgy treat that is simple to make, and is both decadent and delightful!
My grandmother had a sweet tooth and was a lover of chocolate and that love of chocolate continued to my mom, then me and then to my kids! We love all things sweet and delicious and my grandma's recipe collection is full of sweet treats and other great recipes!
You likely know that Hershey's doesn't sell the chocolate syrup in the can anymore and it's only available in the plastic bottle. When I was a kid, my brother and I used to open the can of Hershey's syrup and mix it with milk, making the only kind of chocolate milk I ever had as a kid. You had to keep stirring it to keep the syrup mixture from settling to the bottom. It was so good!
This rich and moist brownie is so delicious on its own, it doesn't require frosting. But if you prefer to add a fudge frosting, it will still taste amazing!

Tips for Making Chocolate Syrup Brownies
Although Hershey no longer sells the syrup in a can as my grandma's recipe calls for, the chocolate syrup sold in the bottle is the same product. You will need 1 1/2 cups of the bottled syrup to replace one can.
Please note: you cannot substitute cocoa powder for the chocolate syrup; the two are not interchangeable.
If you like chocolate chips in your brownies, coat them with flour and fold into the batter!
Add a little ice cream when serving!
