Once you have the fresh apples peeled and sliced, the recipe comes together easily with simple ingredients you likely have at home! This is a great recipe for the apple picking in the Fall!
Step 1: Heat oven to 400°F and prepare a 11x15 inch pan (jelly roll pan) with nonstick cooking spray or butter. Peel and chop apples. In a large bowl, combine apples with sugar, crushed Corn Flakes, and cinnamon. Combine until the apples are well covered. Set aside.
Step 2: For the crust, mix together the butter, flour, salt, sugar and egg yolk/milk mixture. Mix until fully combined. Divide the crust in half. Roll out each half of the crust on a flour dusted surface to slightly larger than the size of your 11x15 inch jelly roll pan to allow for the pinching of the crust together.
Step 3: The next step is to carefully move the pie crust to the prepared pan. Top the crust with the apple mixture. Top the apple mixture with the other half of the crust. Using a knife, make slices on the top crust. Pinch sides together. Beat one egg and spread on top of the crust.
