A true classic ... cinnamon and sugar, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and they are quick and easy to make!
My mom kept kept several recipes from my 8th Grade Home Economics class. This is one of those recipes. I'm proud to share that I received an "A" for my ability to correctly write a recipe. Whew, the pressure.
Snickerdoodles are really easy to make and probably why it's the cookie you get to make in 8th Grade! They take no time at all to bring together and bake. It is a fan favorite for many - I mean how can you go wrong with cinnamon and sugar deliciousness!
How to Make This Cookie
Start by sifting all of your dry ingredients together - the flour, cream of tarter, soda and salt and set aside. Combine the butter, sugar, and eggs together and mix. Add the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
Once all ingredients are combined, roll into small balls the size of a small walnut. A small walnut? Yes, that is a great description from 40 years ago, right? I used a my cookie scoop that is 1.5 tablespoons, then rolled into balls so they would be similar in size. Roll the balls in to the cinnamon and sugar mixture and then add a little more on top, if so desired!
Place the cookies 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
I hope you will give this Forkin' Good Recipe a try!
